Since we are in a digital age, for those of us who have managed to acquire a lot of books through the years, here's something that may inspire you to do something with those books instead of collecting dust on your bookshelves.
A fascinating Dutch artist by the name of Frank Halmans stacks vintage books along shelves, carving windows and doors through each to create a series of imaginary buildings and interiors in each section of volumes. The spaces he slices through stand as a metaphor and the idea of moving through something whether it be a literary passage or a physical space. Pretty nifty stuff!

I may just try this at home myself…I just need to stock up on my exacto blades.

Enjoy!
